
Mostostal Warszawa signed a contract with Kraków Airport for the first phase of the passenger terminal expansion. The contract, worth PLN 661.37 million gross, covers the western T6 section with nearly 45,000 m² of space. According to the contractor, it is the largest building construction contract in the company's history. The project includes 11 new gates, new departure lounges, a retail and food & beverage passage, expanded border control infrastructure and a two-level Business Lounge. The arrivals zone will feature 32 passport control booths, 10 ABC gates and a baggage reclaim hall with six carousels. The Non-Schengen departures area will include 22 passport control booths and another 10 ABC gates. The scheme also предусматриes three new towers with passenger boarding bridge access from the apron side. After completion of the first phase, the airport's capacity will increase to around 16 million passengers annually. The full expansion programme is scheduled for completion by 2032, raising total capacity to 20 million passengers per year. The project also includes a green roof, photovoltaic installation and a grey water recycling system. The T6 terminal extension is scheduled to open in mid-2029.
