NEPI Rockcastle is preparing the expansion of Karolinka Shopping Centre in Opole at Wrocławska Street. The investor has obtained a building permit and plans to enlarge the gallery by almost 11,000 m² of GLA. The expanded section will include around 30 retail units, mainly for fashion brands. The project will also include the construction of an underground car park beneath the new section and the modernisation of the main façade. Let us recall that in April 2020, we reported that Daldehog had been entrusted with the development of a Helios cinema centre of approx. 8,000 m² with 940 seats as part of the redevelopment of the former Agata furniture store in Karolinka Shopping Centre. In January 2018, we wrote about NEPI Rockcastle's plans to expand the complex by approx. 15,000 m², based on documentation prepared by the Tremend architectural office. Rockcastle acquired two shopping centres from BlackRock in 2015: Karolinka in Opole, with approx. 70,000 m², and Pogoria in Dąbrowa Górnicza, with approx. 36,000 m². The total value of the transaction amounted to €220.8 million, including €154.4 million for the first of these assets. ■
